appointments and referrals

It is usually best to consult your optometrist (optician) first, as your blurred vision may simply indicate a need for a change of spectacles, Moray Place Receptionand he or she is best placed to advise you of the cause of your visual difficulties.
If significant cataract were found, you would be referred back to your family practitioner, who would then refer you either to me, or to another eye specialist of his or her choice.

Normally an appointment would be made by your family practitioner, but if it is more convenient to you or your family, it is quite acceptable to make an appointment directly with me, provided that your own doctor then gives you, or sends to me, a formal letter of referral.
